The image of a beautiful stallion enjoying a romp in the water as the sun sets in the background was inspired by my years on the racetrack with my Dad. It especially drums up summers in Del Mar just before the season opened, Dad would wake me around 4am and we'd drive to the track as the sun was rising, walk a few of the horses under the freeway down to the beach around 5am when no one was there. With just a bridle we'd mount up, several jocks and trainers and me 7 or 8 years old bareback on these huge thoroughbreds and we'd swim them out over their heads into the ocean. This thrill still lives inside of me, knowing how blessed I was as a child to share these amazing experiences with my Dad, and now in this way through Art, with you.
